Senators propose funds for paper ballots
New York Times
If the Times started discussing the issue years ago the clearly Republican leaning computer bugs might have been outlawed by this police state election day. Paper ballots are only useful in a recount, anyway.

In addition to pretending that opposition to the war is only based on the fabricated increase of fabricated terrorist threats (i.e. more homeland security please), the Financial Times does the usual dance around the draft, pretending to believe that "one-off cash payments for new recruits" might possibly be sufficient to supply the shortage crisis.

Extremely rare white buffalo born in WI
Homestead
"Sacred White Buffalo Calf Woman came at a time of great need and great strife and war to bring the people back to peace, to living in a good way. She initially appeared to two men. In this first encounter, one of the men was honored, the one who showed respect and right spiritual action. The other was consumed and turned to dust because of his evil intentions. [David Swallow, Teton Oglala Lakota traditional spiritual leader] believes so it will happen in our world again today, 'The birth of this calf symbolizes this, that evil will be destroyed,' he said."
He can celebrate his birthday with the Japanese babe sun god when the Maya calendar ends in 2012. That evil on this planet ultimately will be destroyed seems certain enough.

Virus implanted on Diebold vote machines
Rense
I'm glad to see that 33% of votes will be cast by closed source software. For a while it looked like the notorious bugs in the machines, all in favor of Republicans (I wish my ATM made a mistake just once in my favor), would compel a return to confirmable vote counts, and Lockheed Martin, Carlyle Group, et al. would drop some of their 600% profits since the war started.
