got some suggestions from my theory examiner. tracked down two texts at city college, one at hunter, and one at cuny gc. one im unsure of: catherine belsey. he said textual practice 3, but the only thing that came up on various catalogues was critical practice. one turned up at gc reserve and city college stacks. it was missing from city and when i went to gc it had been reclassified stacks but it was in neither. im still looking for an mla talk by fish against norbrook.

read attridge, halpern, lyotard, and copjec

the malcontent was written in 1604. it recalls measure for measure but the name malevole seems to recall malvolio of twelfth night (although they are very different characters). like mm theres a disguised duke checking out the misbehavior of the court. like hamlet and others theres a play within the play. like kyds spanish tragedy the revenge takes place during the play (masque) at the end. the play is set in genoa but the interchange of state may be an allusion to the recent jacobean succession.,
my orals at cuny are in may
my fields are shakespeare, medieval lit and lit theory
i have fifty texts on each list (ill post them later)

today i'm reading holzknecht outlines of tudor and stuart plays 1497-1642
i just finished the malcontent by marston and am proceeding to three plays by chapman
