Warming may rise beyond previous estimates
"A team of European scientists reports that climate change estimates for the next century may have substantially underestimated the potential magnitude of global warming. They say that actual warming due to human fossil fuel emissions may be 15-to-78 percent higher than warming estimates that do not take into account the feedback mechanism involving carbon dioxide and Earth's temperature."

Monkeys who talk in sentences
Times Online
Something I tried to teach college freshmen for years. I've often wondered why only sentences can be true. Mathematical formulas are sentences, and musical progressions sound like sentences. No subject is true or false without a predicate, and no predicate is true or false without a subject. Yet in all things that truly exist there are neither subjects nor predicates.

He hasn't decided yet? Or He's just being coy? What is it; the gay marriage thing again? To be fair, he said "if I heard God right," admitting that the voices he hears may be Satan and the damned masquerading, like the voices that told Moussaoui that Bush would pardon him if he pled guilty. After accusing environmentalists of envious hysteria and such, the right wing tries to co-opt their own destruction of the eco- whatever as the wrath of the Creator. Now that they have Total Information Awareness and energy pulse and laser weapons in the stratosphere, they want to pass themselves off as Jehovah. Don't laugh because they're converting the fighter pilots in Colorado.
